My little guy is 34" tall, a whopping 27lbs, has 8 teeth and possibly some molars on the way, wears 24 mo clothes and 4 1/2 extra wide shoes. He's moving from baby to toddler so fast now! Just two days ago he went from incoherent babbling to making distinct noises. He favors the letter G sound right now :)
He will walk if I hold his hands, but hasn't worked up the courage to take a step yet. He loves to chase balls and cars around the house. He is soooo curious now, that I can't do anything with out him poking around try to see what I'm doing. Sometimes he tries to push me out of the way if he can't see. Keeping him away when I'm cooking is nearly impossible. Maybe he'll like to cook?
The word "no" is said often around here. Somedays it's like the word just eggs him onward to see what I'll do about it. He has been throwing tantrums daily over anything that thwarts his will. He growls and clenches his fists when he about to start a fit; Roland says he's waiting for Lucas to turn into the hulk one of these days. His biggest frustration is not being allowed into the refrigerator.
We had some sleep problems pop up recently. He would wake up crying hysterically. Rocking, feeding and teething relievers only offered short term help. One evening I noticed the shadows on his walls and ceiling and thought maybe he's scared by them when he wakes (I certaintley remember being afraid of shadows on the wall too). I put in a nightlight by the crib and the crying stopped immediately :)
He'll eat just about anything except eggs and bananas. I still have to run food through the Magic Bullet since he still gags a little on bigger pieces of food. Since he objects to touching most foods, I may have to jump into spoon/fork training. His favorites are the bean and vegetable soups I make, avocado with mango puree mixed in, Gerbers vegetable and tomato corn puffs, oatmeal with honey, green beans and peas. Somedays he's crabby or independent and I have to coax him to eat even if it's something he likes.
Learning, playing and growing every day!
